The first sign of breast cancer is usually a lump or an abnormal mammogram, but it often has no symptoms. It is a type of cancer that begins in the breast and starts when cells grow out of control. Breast cancer is more common in women, but it can still occur in men. Treatments depend on the severity and type of cancer, and there are risk factors such as history, and age. 

Doctors and researchers have been studying the link between breast cancer and diet, leading many to believe that the two are connected. The following foods are among the top suspects of breast cancer causing foods:

1. Sugar and refined carbohydrates
Diet is greatly linked to breast cancer risk and dietary fat intake is powerful factor. High glycemic foods including candy, pasta, white rice and other carbohydrates have been linked to breast cancer. Breast tissue contains insulin receptors and when the insulin or estrogen attached, it is a recipe for breast cancer. Avoiding processed and refined carbohydrates and sugars can greatly decrease your risk.

2. Grilled meats
Grilling certain animal proteins to high temperatures increases heterocyclic amines, which are cancer-causing compounds. Red meat consumption has been linked to breast cancer. With breast cancer risk and dietary fat intake being a major factor, it may be best to avoid meat altogether.

3. High-fat animal products
It is well known that extra fat cells and excess estrogen both contribute to breast cancer. A high-fat diet increases estrogen which gives breast cancer a higher risk to invade. Animal products are loaded with fat which causes those extra fat cells and excess estrogen. Fat is essential for your diet, but avoiding bacon and such, substituting for an avocado or a handful of seeds is a much healthier choice. 

4.Dairy
As a way of production, most farmers fill their milk producers with a multitude of hormones and chemicals. One of these chemicals known as recombinant bovine growth hormone (rBGH) is used in American dairy animals. This has much higher levels of another hormone that regulates cells. Elevated levels of this hormone has been linked to breast cancer. Almond milk may be a better alternative to decrease your risk.

5.Artificial sweeteners
Many of us believe that substituting artificial sweeteners in place of sugar is a healthier choice. However, aspartame and sucralose, found in some of the most popular sweeteners, trigger insulin production and elevated insulin can increase the risk of breast cancer. 

6.Microwave popcorn
Although this may come as a surprise to you and may disappoint you, microwave popcorn gives way to risks of cancer. The bags are lined with chemicals that have been linked to tumors and popcorn itself is also linked to cancer due to the diacetyl chemical used.

7.Fruits
We are not speaking of all fruits, only the fruits that are not pesticide free. Most of us believe we are eating healthy when we purchase apples, grapes, strawberries from the supermarket, but the truth is, unless it is organic or pesticide-free the risk for cancer exists as it is contaminated with cancer-causing pesticides.
